The Graves

Their are Graves of some of those who perished that remain on the island today near Bulwer. The graves are located less than 1km south of Bulwer, for a child who died at sea.

There are two sites there, one grave has a sandstone headstone surrounded by a wrought iron fence, The grave was established in 1883. Moreton Island Historical Graves

A second grave was established in 1895 and has a marble headstone surrounded by a timber paling fence.

At Cape Moreton near the lighthouse there is the grave of the lighthouse keepers wife who died on the Island during child birth.
All of these graves are very interesting to see and are some of the oldest sites in Queenlsand, a must see for history buffs.
