Godzilla & Kong make their mark at Tangalooma

The resort saw a two-week set build, with scenes shot over 5 days from the 22nd August – 26th August 2022 and over 250 cast and crew on the island over that period. Tangalooma was delighted to have had the opportunity to be able to showcase our stunning location and resort to the stars, crew, and now, the entire audience watching the new movie.

Guests staying at the Resort during that time were fortunate to see a real-life Hollywood movie set up close, mainly located by the Beachfront Villas and Jetty. Of course, the famous Tanga Leaning Palm made its way onto our cinema screens, featured in a scene with Kong himself, that our beloved Tangalooma guests wouldn’t be able to miss whilst watching!

With several, major films, (including Ticket to Paradise with George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and who could forget the iconic Scooby Doo Spooky Island), choosing Tangalooma as their go to island filming location, we can’t blame them, it does make for a beautiful movie backdrop! Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is in cinemas now.
